HTWDT Episode 29: Suspiria (1977) and Weapons (2025)

What we have here is a supersized version of witchery, just in time for the Halloween season. We start off with a classic, Dario Argento's (1977) Suspiria. It's obvious from the fake Italian accent enthusiasm that the boys enjoy this one! There's lots to unpack in this arthouse horror gem, including some interesting behind the scenes tech about the film and the soundtrack. We follow that up with the brand new Zach Cregger film Weapons (2025) which Mike happened to work on. So there are lots of behind the scenes tidbits and discussions on the makeup fx. There's so much in this episode we left it long and still cut stuff out that will come to Patreon later. So grab your ingredients and heat up your cauldrons, it's time to get into this witch.

HTWDT Episode 28: Dead Calm (1989) and Dangerous Animals (2025)

Hello Whole Damn Family! On this one, we sail out and find two films that may be under your radar. Dead Calm (1989), which is one of Billy Zane and Nicole Kidman's first-ever roles. It's a tight thriller where we get to conjure the ghost of Orson Welles for our opener (kinda). Aren't you curious why? Then we deep dive into this summer's new serial killer shark movie from down under by Sean Byrne, Dangerous Animals (2025), Starring Jai Courtney (this one just dropped on Shudder). Sir David Attenborough visits us (not really) to tell us about the dangers of Australia. We also talk about the sexy tones of Creedence Clearwater Revival and bite into the sensuous side of corn. Oh you didn't know there was one? You've got a lot to learn in this episode!

HTWDT Episode 27: Deadly Friend (1986) and M3GAN 2.0 (2025)

It's our one-year anniversary! So let's unplug it all and plug it back in with these two beauties. In 1986, Wes Craven tried to introduce the world to his Deadly Friend...but audiences were more interested in his nightmares, so the studio stuck their greasy fingers into his mechanical pie. Spoiler Alert…It didn't go over too well, but this one has a good origin story. Twenty-six years later, the world was introduced to M3GAN and now M3GAN 2.0, so we paired Wes' long lost and rarely talked about friend with the latter. Lucky for you! In this episode, we talk robot love, destructive AI’s, evil stepfathers, Steven Segal, and Family; in fact, “it’s all about family!” So put on your headphones and reboot with some laughs.

HTWDT Episode 26: Pet Sematary (1989) Bring Her Back (2025)

This one should be fun! A whole episode on grief! How adorable! The boys cover Stephen King's classic Pet Sematary (1989), a film undoubtedly about the cons of the trucking industry and the pros of fencing off your yard! Mike gives a few behind-the-scenes tidbits he learned from John Blake about working on the show with David Anderson and his father, Lance.

We wanted to review Osgood Perkins' latest, The Monkey (2025) based on the Stephen King short story, and they chose George Romero's dare we say...classic?
